The Cottage
Recently completely restored and refurbished, Riverside Cottage is just the sort of cottage everyone dreams of.
A pretty 16/17 century "chocolate box" thatched cottage set in large private gardens and surrounded by rolling Devon countryside as far as the eye can see, a truly idyllic escape from the real world. The only passing traffic being the occasional horse or donkey using the bridleway that runs behind the cottage and the very occasional farm vehicle.
Harcombe is a sleepy hamlet within the Sid Valley. Just 5 minutes from Sidford with it's convenience store and excellent pub, and 10 minutes from the seaside town of Sidmouth with shops, restaurants, leisure facilities and beach.
Inside The Cottage:
The Kitchen is a modern, very well equipped cottage style kitchen, with Electric cooker, Microwave, Dishwasher, Washer/dryer, Fridge/freezer, and High chair.
From the kitchen through a wide beamed archway is the cosy and beautifully furnished Dining room / Sitting area, with a selection of books and games, and a telephone for incoming calls and outgoing emergency calls.
The focal point of this Sitting area is the feature inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. Logs are available locally, although there will be some to get you started.
Past a small Cloakroom with w.c. and basin, to the “Garden Room”...
The "Garden Room" is a lovely relaxing room overlooking the garden with French doors to the patio which has glorious uninterrupted views over the local countryside. This room has the TV, DVD, and CD/TAPE/RADIO.
Back in the Dining room / Sitting room are the stairs to first floor...
